The linkage is in 2 parts. First, The outside of the throttle linkage should be fixed at both ends. (Mounted solid to the radio box on one end and
to the carb body on the other end.) Second, The throttle
cable should be mounted to the servo on one end and to the carb throttle on the other.
The above pictures show the throttle setup on a 46" Warehouse Hobbies
Gator.
Picture "A" shows the carb with the throttle
at idle.
Picture "B" shows the
servo at idle.
Picture "C" shows the carb with just above 60%
throttle.
Picture "D" shows the servo just above 60%
throttle.
Picture "E" shows the carb with the throttle at 100%
throttle.
Picture "F" shows the servo at 100% throttle.
The two
pictures on the right show a close look at the carb braket and how the cable is
attached.
NOTES:
When you install the linkage it is a good idea to have the
servo set in the center of its travel and have the throttle at 50%. This will
give you the same amount of travel from 0% to 50% as you will have from 50% to
100%. I use this setup for all my boats and works very well with both the low
cost radios as well as the radios with all the bells. You can control the amount
of throttle movement in two ways. ie: If you have to much throw ... #1 move the
linkage "closer" to the servo wheel/arm center, or #2 move the linkage at the
carb "out" away from the center of the carb arm center. If you need more
throw..... #1 move the linkage away from the servo wheel/arm center or #2 move
the linkage at the carb "closer" to the center of the arm.
These pictures show the cable linkage setup on the Miss Shirley Hydro
using the same system. You must mount both ends of the "outer cable" (cable
housing) so they do not move. You can fine tune your throttle if you mount one
end of the cable firm to the carb and the other end where you can adjust the
amount going in the radio box.
Notes:
You can see "A" and "B" show the throttle at idle and "C" and
"D" show the throttle at 100% throttle. Look close and you can see that the
servo does not move much from idle to full throttle.
