I use a 35 mm film canister with a lid to seal the radio box. I cut the canister in half. I sand the outside and then cut a hole in the lid of my radio box just above the switch and charging jack location. I glue the canister in place. I set it with hot glue then I cover that with a bead of shoe goo all the way around the base. I have yet to have one fail.(The hole is a snug fit around the canister and I leave enough of the canister sticking through the lid; that I can seal the underside of it with a bead also.) I always mount my switches so that I push fwd to turn it on and pull back for off.

Now once my servo linkage is set I have no need to remove the lid because I can pull the top off the canister, charge the batteries or turn on/off the radio. If the top is left off while not running the boat. The large hole allows circulation of air in the radio box and prevents any condensation problems. This has worked for me for many years. Now one roll of radio box tape has lasted me 4+ years and counting. I don't mind sharing my radio box tape or the little tip.
