Before you make the first change on your engine. It is a good idea to blueprint it so you know where the numbers are. (Make a note of the Intake, Exhaust, Transfer ports timing as well as the head clearance.) Once you have these noted you then can start your hopup.

If you are not sure how to do this you can learn more about how to check the timing by clicking Here!

Here is a look at the cylinder after the squish band has been removed.
(Material was cut from the top of the cylinder)
The compression changed (Material was cut from the base of the cylinder)
Transfer port timing changed. Material was cut from both transfer ports)

Here is a look at the exhaust port after it has been opened up. (Never cut material from the sides of the exhaust port)

Here is a look at the intake port after it has been opened up.
Note: If you get into the fuel pump hole because of a flaw in the cylinder casting. You can fill the hole with JB weld and redrill the hole.

Here is a look at the block with the transfer ports cut larger.

Look close and you can see the front bearing oiler tube installed as well as how the transfer port is cut at the bearing.

Here are the details on what you will be doing noted on one page.
